General information

Wilderness offers luxury safari experiences in eight African countries, promoting ecotourism and conservation.

Now 33 years old, our ecotourism and conservation company, based in Maun, Botswana, with regional offices and locally registered businesses in each of the nine countries in which it operates. We operate and market some 40 small safari camps as well as mobile safaris and walking/canoeing trails in the pristine wilderness areas of Africa (Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Rwanda, South Africa, Seychelles and Kenya). In addition, Wilderness Air, owns and operates a fleet of light aircraft to provide a seamless transfer service between camps.

All operations and activities are organised and evaluated under the 4Cs framework: Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce. In addition, two not-for-profit wings - the Wilderness Wildlife Trust and Children in the Wilderness – also employ this framework to ensure that a meaningful difference is made as a result of tourism in the fields of wildlife conservation and community development.
