General information
The Freedom of Expression Institute (FXI) was established in 1994 to promote and defend protect the right to freedom of expression and to oppose censorship. The FXI was formed from a merger of three organisations: The Campaign for Open Media , the Anti-Censorship Action Group and the Media Defence Trust .
The FXI engages in lobbying, education, monitoring, research, publicity and litigation and the funding of legal cases that advance these rights.
The FXI is an interim member of the International Freedom of Expression eXchange (IFEX) which monitors freedom of the media and freedom of expression on a global scale.
