General information
Situated on the side of the hill between Lion’s Head and Signal Hill, Tamboerskloof Primary School continues to flourish, as it has done for the past 107 years.
Established in a house in 1903 with forty children and one teacher, the school now accommodates 440 children and has a staffing complement of over 30.
Affectionately known to the pupils as “Tambi”, this school has a fine tradition as a caring, family-style school. We call it “The Family School in the City”.
We try to create a homely, disciplined environment and a sound, enjoyable, all round education. A respect for sound moral values is insisted upon, as reflected in the words of our school song, namely truthfulness, loyalty, honour and sincerity.
