Cinergy was formed in 1991 to produce commercials for the South African market.
The company specialized in food, beverage, beauty, fashion, and car commercials, and became known for its ability to produce large scale and logistically demanding commercials.

From 1997, Cinergy offered production service to foreign companies shooting commercials in South Africa.
