MISSIE

Hugenote Laerskool is ‘n diverse opvoedkundige instansie wat in die platteland geleë is. Ons waardes en beginsels is geskoei op die Hugenote Manier, wat die volgende pilare insluit: Betroubaarheid, Respek, Verantwoordelikheid, Regverdigheid, Omgee en goeie Burgerskap. Ons streef na uitnemendheid en die volkome ontwikkelling van elke kind: akademies, fisies en sosiaal. Deur professionele opvoeding verseker ons optimale groei, kwaliteit sport- en kulturele blootstelling en gelukkige kinders.

We strive for excellence and the complete development of each child: academically, physically and socially . Through professional education we ensure optimal growth and quality cultural and sport exposure.

The Huguenot Primary School was established in 1954 as a parallel-medium school after the amalgamation of the Girls’ High and Boys’ High Schools. The school was accommodated in the old school building in Market Street. Subsequently, Huguenot Primary and Huguenot High Schools have functioned independently.

The well-known author, Mr. P.H. Nortje, was the first principal of Huguenot Primary School.

Originally (1954 – 1972) Huguenot Primary School only accommodated learners from Grade 4 – 7, but now accommodates learners from Grade R – 7 since relocating to the new school building. Provision is also made for learners with special needs.

The motto of our school is: “Aim High”. This is more than just our motto. It represents the spirit in which we conduct ourselves both in and outside the classroom.
