General information

Carnegie House Independent School, both Paarl and Riebeek Kasteel in the Western Cape of South Africa, are made up of the Preparatory Schools and Schools for Small Children (Pre-School).

The Schools for Small Children cater for children from 18 months to 6 years (Grade R) and the Preparatory Schools cater for Grade 1 through to Grade 7.

Carnegie House Independent School is built on the principles of individuality, creativity, respect and above all a love of learning and discovery and believes in developing partnerships with parents and community to aid a child’s full development.

Carnegie House Independent School incorporates the core elements of the Montessori philosophy: these include encouraging every child’s strong sense of individuality and responsibility, and the promotion of their natural strengths. This in turn leads to the development of confidence and self-esteem, two important characteristics which lead to the child’s “can do” attitude.
