South African Rugby Legends

General information

SARLA is an association which represents the interests of former professional players as well as other ‘Legends’ who have promoted the game of rugby.
By supporting our Legends in their various activities and events, and via the functions and tours organised by SARLA, we are, in turn, supported by the Legends of the game in our Grassroots “Vuka” rugby development programme, whereby over 2000 disadvantaged youngsters in over 65 schools across the Western Cape have, for the past four years, been given the opportunity, through mass-participation rugby and life skills, to develop themselves and become positive examples to those around them and assets to their communities. Rollout of this sustainable and SARU-endorsed, year-round programme is planned for all other SA Rugby Unions over the next few years. The Legends also give back to the game they hold dear by assisting at various events around the country, including coaching clinics in disadvantaged areas.
