Mrs S D Dooken is the founder and director of Shobhana Devi Dooken & Associates Inc, with more than 21 years of experience in this field of law. She is also a legal consultant and Land Rights Mediator with the Department of Rural Land Development and Reform, and Communal Property, Restitution and Land Rights Management specialist practitioner.

She obtained her BA LLB at the University of Durban-Westville in the year 1990. She obtained her Conveyancing degree in 2003 and progressed to be one of the most top performing Conveyancers in KwaZulu-Natal.

She is now joined by her son, and candidate lawyer Kishen Jairaj Dooken who is in his final year of studying LLB at UNISA. One can say that its a "mother-and-son" legal team, where experience and professionalism is key to the firm's long existence. The firm is a community based legal entity in the township of Phoenix, that has dedicated its services in the betterment of the community and its surrounding areas.

Shobhana Devi Dooken & Associates Inc are proud members of the Black Lawyers Association and the Black Conveyancers Association (BCA) with a 135% BEE Certified rating for promoting both black legal professionals as well as women in the work place.

The firm has also been actively involved in Probono.org.za's campaign of making the law accessible to disadvantaged low income people and elderly people since 2014 by being part of a handful participating firms in the Ntuzuma Magistrates' Court legal clinic set up every year.

The firm has been on the FNB and ABSA Bank panel for more than 12 years, for home loan bonds and cancellations. Also on the Development Home Loan Panel for sectional title schemes, developments, etc.

The firm is also on the SANRAL nation public roads panel for SANRAL expropriation transfers and future developments and investments in our road transport infrastructure.
