Conceptualised, designed and curated by Trevyn and Julian McGowan of Source and Southern Guild, Work I Shop I New I Town is an innovative retail concept housed in the 1911 Potato Sheds at Newtown Junction. This year-round retail hub will be the first of its kind in Johannesburg and will honour the heritage and cultural significance of Newtown.

Significant investment by award winning developers, Attebury and Attacq has recently reinvigorated this inner city area of Johannesburg, providing the ideal environment for this dynamic new venture.

An imaginative architectural reinvention of the space, interpreted by Adri Van Zyl of Atelier Interiors, will provide a compelling environment with a dramatic and rigorous visual language.

Work Shop New Town offers over 1000 square metres of retail spaces and bespoke lifestyle services. With an in-depth focus on fashion, ranging from emerging to acclaimed South African/African brands, Work Shop New Town presents most interesting products and services, carefully curated under one roof. Contemporary design, art, unique craft, beauty and grooming, the rich and relevant offering caters to both a local and visiting audience.
