General information

Dr Biva Naik is a clinical psychologist in Pretoria East and has been in clinical practice since 2001.

With a passion for helping people reach their full potential, she currently consults children, teenagers, and adults facing a range of challenges that hold them back from living healthy fulfilled lives.

Dr Biva Naik works on the premise that clients are unique and treatment approaches are individually tailored to meet the specific needs of clients. Facilitating the process of self-exploration and growth, therapy with Dr Biva Naik provides the opportunity to explore and understand experiences and personal challenges within a professional relationship of confidentiality and trust. She aims to help clients free themselves from the hurts of the past so that they can live healthier, meaningful lives in the present.

When working with and understanding children, she tends to focus on how their unique environments, development and family dynamics influence their behaviour, maturity and mental health. A safe space is created, giving children the opportunity to release pent-up emotions, express themselves verbally and
non-verbally, and find solutions to their problems.

Her areas of interest include Hypnotherapy, Brainworking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), neuropsychology, medico-legal assessments, grief and loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, emotional eating, women’s mental health issues, psychological coaching for work-family enrichment, couples therapy, and helping families cope with divorce.

To provide therapy which is innovative and cutting-edge, Dr Biva Naik keeps abreast with the latest developments, research and training in psychology. In her quest for continuous professional development she regularly attends conferences, including the congress of the Psychological Society of South Africa and the International Congress of Psychology, as well as courses in hypnotherapy, Brainworking Recursive Therapy (BWRT), ethics, psychological assessments,systems psychodynamics, play therapy; neuropsychology, and psychological coaching.
