An idea born from the Muizenberg Festival 2014, through community collaboration and as a Festival Project, the doors of the Made in Muizenberg retail store opened in February 2014.
The quaint and eccentric store hosts, supports and celebrates survival/micro enterprises in a collective retail space by celebrating the diversity of the local community of quality made design and products.
It operates cooperatively, is self-sustaining, beneficial and profitable for all involved and thereby collectively contributing to the overall growth and success of the area.
The store is situated on Palmer Road in Muizenberg Village, which in its formative years boasted the local trading through the Village Traders.
Both the local community and its visitors, the last Thursday of every month, have embraced the introduction of a monthly night market, "Night on Palmer", with the street being transformed into a buzzy, relaxed and enjoyable vibe!
