Gift of Dance

General information

Formerly known as Ruley School of Dance, Gift of Dance is now run by Canadian born dancer Amanda klotz, with competition classes from Danja Gerber, and Hip Hop classes from Shameelah Kinnear, Brandon Herbst, Elrette du Plessis, Mone Krynauw. And assistant teachers Jaime Blok and Megan Kerschbaumer.

Amanda and Shami have just finished filming the new Honey 3 movie with Universal Pictures!

Amanda has recently worked alongside Cirque du Soleil talent scouts as a local casting partner for South Africa.

She has also recently danced in the Mark Haze music video for "Dancing", currently playing on MNET. 4 of her tap students (Brandon, Alexa, Lerie and Rene) also feature in Mark's music video! Amanda featured as a dancer in the Warner Bros. Feature film "House Party 5, tonight's the night", choreographed by Chuck Maldonado (Chuck is a choreographer from Stomp the yard, Step up 4, etc.) as well as SA Idols with such artists as Khaya Mthethwa, Lloyd Cele, HHP, Liquideep, Kurt Daren, Sindi Nene, Mark Haze, Elvis Blue, Dave Van Vuuren, to name a few.

Amanda is trained in Hip Hop, Modern/Jazz/Contemporary, Tap and Ballet and has trained in Los Angeles, New York and Vancouver with some of the Dance industry's finest!

Everyone who chooses to embrace it has been blessed with "the Gift Of Dance"!
The goal of our dance studio is to tap into that GIFT and expose dancers at an early age to as many unique opportunities as possible to "enhance the dance" in each and every dancer. I believe the Gift has been given to share, and to be a blessing to others.

We take part in Competitions and Exams and perform regulary at Ratanga Junction, and have been exposed to incredible venues such as the Artscape Theatre, CTICC, Hillsong Church and many more! Dancers have acheived their WP and SA colours for Hip Hop on various occasions.

Gift Of Dance has recently hosted workshops with TOP INTERNATIONAL CHOREOGRAPHERS! (Justin Bieber's choreographer and dancers - Nick de Moura, Johnny Erasme, Jonathan Rabon, Shaun Evaristo, as well as Gus Bembery, Whyley Yoshimura, Khalid Freeman, Joshua Beamish... Who's credits collectively include: Justin Bieber, Rihanna, Janet Jackson, Shakira, Missy Elliott, New York City Ballet, Broadway Dance Centre, Edge Performing arts Centre etc.!) and we plan to host many more International workshops in the very near future!
