General information

I am a young enthusiastic professional looking to improve every individual I get the opportunity to work with. This includes aspects such as orthopedic and cardiovascular rehabilitation and prevention, neurological rehabilitation, health and wellness.

Biokinetics is defined as the science of movement and the application of exercise in rehabilitative treatment or performance. A biokineticist is a clinical exercise specialist that functions in professional alliance to health and medicine. A biokineticist improves a person’s physical well being and quality of life through individualized scientific assessment and the prescription of exercise in rehabilitative treatment to prevent or intervene with certain ailments and the enhancement of performance (sport and work).

A biokineticist can assist with:

Individualized and specific exercise prescription
Final-phase rehabilitation (sport injuries or post-operation)
Corrective exercise therapy
Injury prevention
Sport-specific assessment and strength & conditioning
Exercise management for chronic diseases

Working in a multi-disciplinary environment with narrow ties with colleagues is a very important part to get back to optimal functionality!.

I completed my MSc in Biokinetics within Physical, Activity, Sport and Recreation (PhASRec) in the Faculty of Healthy Sciences at the North-West University, Potchefstroom Campus.

My goals and interests include increased exposure to cardiovascular rehabilitation, prevention of chronic diseases and wellness because of the severe importance in the modern era.
