One Foot Groove

General information

Founded in 2006 One Foot Groove has striven to develop itself and the music scene it finds itself in by producing and releasing music from established as well as developing musicians. The main motivating force behind the label’s actions was not only to promote new and fresh-sounding acts into the already vibrant South African trance scene but to, at least partially, professionalize something that is traditionally relaxed in its outlook: the music scene and production.

In 2009 this motivation took a new turn with the founding of our first branch outside of South Africa in Lisbon, Portugal: aiming at providing new and exciting music to a wider audience as well as to promote further cross-pollination between the various trance centers of the world, 1FG set its sights on creating satellites that can find talent around the world and within the trance scene, joining efforts to mix styles of music production and increase artistic exchange.

The unmitigated success brought about by the European branch of the label has led to plans of proposed expansion into the rest of Europe, the U.S.A and Japan. These developments will allow the label to draw on the most inspired music from around the globe, bringing it together under one house.

Both European and South African branches are not only orchestrating releases and tours but are also on a quest for talented artists that will continue to develop and redefine the label’s profile and position within the Trance scene, and the music scene as a whole.
